Connor's First Birthday Party

Last weekend we had very fun first birthday party for Connor. We are so blessed with all our family and friends that love us...and it was fun to celebrate Connor's big day with all of them. Enjoy! :)

Halloween 2008

We had a great Halloween!!!! Connor was a monkey (thanks to my Mom for making his super cute costume!) and had fun dressing up. My parents and Pat's parents came over to see Connor get ready for trick or treating, we hit a neighborhood party and then Pat and Connor went to 5 or 6 houses to "trick or treat". It was a pretty low key, but very nice day and night as a family.

Connor's One Year Pediatrician Appointment

Connor had a great one year well baby visit with Dr. Boyce. Dr. Boyce was happy with Connor's growth and development and there is really not much to report.

Connor weighed in at 25 pounds 11 ounces and is 32 inches tall...90th percentile for weight and 95 percentile for height. He is still our big boy!!!!! :)

Dr. Boyce recommended that we get rid of bottles and formula cold turkey and Connor has done great with that...NO MORE BOTTLES IN THIS HOUSE!!! He is now drinking milk and water out of sippy cups only and is doing it like a champ. My little baby is so grown up!

Connor's FIRST Birthday

CONNOR IS ONE!!!!! That is right, Connor turned ONE on October, 25 2008!!! We were able to spend a fabulous weekend up in Chicago celebrating Ben and Julia's wedding (they had a big party to celebrate the wedding that took place this spring in Florida). Here are some pictures from the big day, the cake Uncle Ben and Auntie Julia got Connor for their party and pictures from the party.

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!! (Note his shirt says "I'm Connor and I'm One!")

All bundled up to head to my Birthday breakfast! :)

The beautiful bride and handsome groom!

The VERY handsome birthday boy in his new outfit! :)

Excited that people were singing to him!

Pat and Friends in Green Bay, Wisconsin

Pat and some buddies made the trek up to Green Bay, WI a few weeks ago for a "Guys Weekend". They were able to hang out in Green Bay and go to the Colts/Packers game. Pat has always wanted to hit a game at Lambeau and they had a great time. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Go Red Sox

We have an interesting Red Sox following in our home. 1) My father was born and raised in Westerly, RI and he (and most of his family) are HUGE Red Sox fans. 2) When I graduated from IU I was big time in to Nomar Garciapara and it started a strange obsession for me and the Red Sox for a few years. I am over the obsession now, but still enjoy the Red Sox. 3) When I met Pat he told me that he was a Cubs fan, but the Red Sox had always been his second favorite team...no reason, they just were. So, we enjoy watching the Boston Red Sox play baseball.

Last night was no exception to this as they pulled off the win. In celebration of the win Connor wore his Red Sox sweater for the first time today. When he was born (almost a year ago...can you believe it?) we were lucky enough to receive it in the mail from Dr. Peter and Nancy Nigri out east (my Dad's cousin is Peter). WE LOVE IT and it looks so cute on Connor. THANK YOU to Peter and Nancy. And, the best part of the story is they are Yankees fans so it made the gift even more special to us...I am sure it was hard for them to buy Red Sox gear.

Dancing! :) He loves music and loves to dance.

Playing hard...water break.

Girls Weekend in Nashville

I was very lucky to get a few days away last weekend and headed to Nashville with a few sorority sisters from IU. Kara, Jamie and I had a great time listening to country music, eating good food, drinking good beer (especially during the day...I LOVE day beer drinking) and spending time together catching up and chatting. It was a great "break" for me and I had a blast.

A big thanks to Pat, Penny and Bob (that is Meme and Pops) for holding the fort down and taking care of Connor while I was away. I know he was in great hands and I was able to relax and have fun all weekend long (this was my first "more then one night away from Connor since he was born").

Unfortunately I only have ONE picture from the weekend, so here it is. Again, I need to be better with my camera!

Happy October Birthdays!

We honestly know a TON of people who have birthdays this month, so we wanted to send a special HAPPY BIRTHDAY out to everyone! We have a boat load of family and friends that have their special days in October (honestly, so many that it would take me forever to do this post and I need to get in the shower to get cleaned up before my Dad's birthday dinner tonight!), so HAPPY BIRTHDAY to everyone we know that was born this month. Here are a few special shout outs to some "EXTRA special big days".

Happy 60th Birthday to my Dad (10/16)!

Happy 2nd Birthday Cole...Connor's big cousin up in Chicago (10/14)!

Happy Birthday to Meme...Pat's Mom! (10/9)

And someone has a VERY special birthday coming up in about one week...MUCH more to come on this! :)

Pizza Train

Last weekend Pat, Connor and I joined some friends for a ride on the Pizza Train! :) We met up with Heather, Eric, Koy & Quin Hendrich, Angie, Andy, Justin & Drew Hilton and Andrea, Sofia and Dominic Morelli in Noblesville to take a real train up to Tipton for dinner at The Pizza Shack. The kids had a great time on the train and we all had fun at dinner. Here are a few pictures of Connor and Daddy on the train.

Pumpkin Patch

Our friends, Chris and Val Scherrer host a "pumpkin patch" in their yard every year for friends and family to gather and get a head start on the Halloween season. Pat and Connor went this year and picked out some great pumpkins for us to carve in a few weeks. Here are some pictures from Connor's first pumpkin patch experience.

Katie Countryman looking very festive! :)

Connor's First Haircut

I finally took the plunge and took Connor to get his first haircut! :) It was a big day for both of us, but probably a bigger day for me. My baby is growing up so fast...and now he even looks like a little boy, too! :)
