Breakfast with Friends

Connor and I had a great morning as we met our friends Kelly and Izzy McCulloch for breakfast at one of my favorite sports, Cafe Patachou (the best cinnamon toast EVER!). We had not seen these two in a while and it was great to catch up! Kelly and I went through all of our fertility stuff together a while back and since the kiddos have been born we have not seen each other nearly as often as we would like.

Funny side note...while we were eating breakfast one of the servers came up to us and asked if we were sisters because they thought we looked alike and so did the kids... VERY FUN!!!! :)

Kelly is a dear friend and it was a wonderful morning!

4th of July

Another dreary 4th of July...that ended with good weather! :) I feel like every year for the past few years, the 4th of July has been dreary and rainy...and this year fell right in to that. We were supposed to hang at the pool all day (me, Mom and Connor) while Dad and Pat played golf...but the rain had other plans for us!

It rained pretty much all morning/early afternoon so Mom, Connor and I went out to breakfast while the guys attempted to play golf. They ended up coming home around 9 AM and then Mom and I headed to the mall to do a little shopping. We met the boys for lunch and then took it easy the rest of the day (while Connor napped).

Friday night Mom, Dad, Pat, Connor, Penny (Pat's Mom), Natalie and I made our way to Highland for a BBQ and fireworks. The rain was pretty much over by this point so we had a nice night. Connor made it through the fireworks with flying colors and only made a few little whimpers during the entire show. Here are some pictures from the night.

New Trick...

Connor has a new trick! :) It seems that he is starting to understand the camera and that we are taking pictures of him. Every time we get the camera out he looks and smiles. Now, he may just be looking at the red light, but at least it is a start! Here are a few pictures we got of him eating dinner the other night. He is really posing for the camera! :)

Chicago Visit

Connor and I headed up to Chicago last week. We spent a few days with Erin, Kendall, Tom and Jan (Erin's parents). We basically just hung out at the Cowan's with the kids and had a great time! Er and I got to catch up and the kids got to spend some time together.

I then headed over to Ben and Julia's new house for the remainder of the weekend. My parents were also up visiting them so we were all able to hang out. Their new home is BEAUTIFUL and I am so glad I was able to see it so soon after they moved in. Unfortunately I did not take any pictures, but intend to the next time I am up! We hung out at the Taste of Crystal Lake, had yummy Chicago style pizza at Georgio's on Saturday night and then headed home on Sunday after a yummy breakfast.

It was a great trip spending time with the people I love.

P.S. I did a HORRIBLE job of taking pictures on this trip...I am still working on getting better at this! :)

Connor and Kendall LOVED playing in the pool together!

First...Of Many Injuries

Connor received his first "boo boo" when he rolled in to the corner of the stair a few weeks ago. I know it is kind of hard to see, but it was something I wanted to document. I am sure there will be many, many more where this came from...I can already tell Connor is going to be a rough and tumble boy! :)

You can kind of see the little cut above my eye on my eyebrow...

Jamie's Visit

My dear friend from college, Jamie Worland, came down to visit in June. We had a great time hanging out at the Indians game (Connor's first baseball game), spending time at the pool and then a Girls Night Out on Friday night. It was so great to spend a few days with her...come back to visit anytime, Jamers! :)

Connor at the pool...Jamie took this great picture of him! :) I wish he would eat green veggies so his nose was not orange/yellow all the time! :)
